Any early season doubt about Mookie Betts was immediately washed away by the month of May. Dodgers fans who were concerned that there were lingering health issues have instead been treated to an offensive explosion from Betts, and he went off over the last 30 days.
Betts slashed .342/.411/.746 with a 1.156 OPS in the month of May. He tallied 22 extra-base hits and drove in a ridiculous 27 runs despite hitting in the leadoff spot. He was a big reason that the Dodgers had such a huge month in the win column.
That apparently led to him being the most valuable hitter in all of baseball this month.
