Mookie Betts thought he was showing up to his old alma mater for a photoshoot. That would have made sense given the fact that the Nashville product was fresh off of a World Series win with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Instead, John Overton High School surprised Mookie with so much more. The city ‘showed up’ to honor Mookie and to make November 12th officially Mookie Betts Day in Nashville. The Mayor of the city was there to award the day to the Dodgers All-Star outfielder, and there was even a band present to welcome him to his old high school.
