Before Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Mookie Betts revealed that he had deleted social media. At the time, Betts was under heavy scrutiny on the internet for his recent postseason play.
Betts had gone 0-22 on his last 22 postseason at-bats, and was unable to replicate his regular season success in the postseason over that span.
“You know, it’s tough to really get away from everything because everyone’s watching,” Betts told reporters. “There’s family, friends, you guys, everybody is watching. And I’m doing this, I’m talking, so there’s no real way to get away from it.
