The Dodgers defeated the Braves in a highly anticipated potential postseason preview on Friday. Max Muncy also accomplished a feat not done by a Dodger since the 2001-2002 season. That is hitting thirty or more home runs in back to back seasons. Shawn Green last accomplished that for the blue in 2001 and 2002.
In 2001, Green slugged 49 home runs, the current single-season home run record for the Dodgers. Shawn backed up that record-setting season with another great season in 2002 when he mashed 42 home runs. Ever since then, there have been Dodgers that reached forty home run seasons, but none that hit at least thirty home runs in back to back years.
