Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts Provides Huge Update on Clayton Kershaw’s Rehab Timeline

Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw threw a three-inning simulated game at Dodger Stadium on Thursday.

Kershaw’s velocity was clocked at 88-89 mph, which is exactly where the team expected it to be at this point in his rehab. Kershaw was throwing two-seam fastballs and changeups in addition to his usual pitch mix.

After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on Kershaw to reporters, and said he’s “much further along” than expected.

Kershaw underwent surgery this offseason to repair the gleno-humeral ligaments and capsule in his left shoulder. He said he was hoping to be back sometime in “July-ish, August-ish,” but seems way ahead of schedule at this point.
