The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the top of the ninth inning at Coors Field down five runs against the Colorado Rockies. They won 11-9, completing one of the wildest comebacks in franchise history.
It was the first time since the franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1958 that they pulled off a comeback win when trailing by five or more runs in the ninth inning. Entering the final frame, the Dodgers had a 0.5 percent chance of winning.
And, if that wasn’t enough history to make in one night, the Dodgers also became the first team in Major League Baseball history to hit a grand slam and a three-run home run while trailing in the ninth inning or later of the same game.
