LOS ANGELES — Yasiel Puig, amid a 1-for-15 slump, was dropped to seventh in the batting order, his lowest spot in the starting lineup this season, as the Dodgers looked to bounce back from Monday night’s 4-2 loss against the New York Mets.
Puig began the season on a tear, but has fallen hard over the last month.
In his last 25 games, the right fielder is batting .183 with a .208 on-base percentage.
“To not perform as far as the numbers and statistics, I think he’s disappointed, because he wants to contribute,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.
