PITTSBURGH -- The Dodgers' starter tonight, right-hander Nick Tepesch, takes the mound tonight as a mystery to his own manager.
"Really, I don't know a whole lot about Nick," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "He's a big guy (6-foot-4). He's performed well since we got him in Triple-A. He's made 39 starts (in the big leagues) so I'm as curious as everyone is."
All 39 of those starts came in the American League with the Texas Rangers in 2013 and 2014, explaining Roberts' lack of familiarity with his body of work. The Dodgers could be counting on that same lack of familiarity working in his favor against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
