SAN FRANCISCO -- In a move that seems annually inevitable, the Dodgers placed Carl Crawford on the DL Saturday with lower back pain.
Crawford is scheduled to have an MRI on his back Monday in Los Angeles. In his place, Micah Johnson was promoted from Triple-A Oklahoma City and was en route to San Francisco this morning.
(He should have plenty of time to get to AT&T Park before the game starts. Rain has been falling all morning and the game will not likely start on time.)
"It just made sense for us to quit trying to play both sides, him trying to be available but not certain if he’s going to be available," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.
