It’s no surprise when the Dodgers collect a new stat or achieve a new record. The team is hot right now and isn’t showing many signs of slowing down soon. But not only are they winning, lately, they’re putting teams away by three or more runs almost every single game.
After Friday night’s 8-3 win against the Royals, the Dodgers had exceeded their biggest winning streak of the season with their 11th consecutive win, all of which have been won by multiple runs. This stat matches that of the 2002 Oakland Athletics which are colloquially referred to as the “Moneyball” A’s after being immortalized by Michael Lewis’ bestselling book of the same name and the subsequent film that’s become a baseball fan favorite since it’s release in 2011.
