Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt is set to undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery, Dodgers Nation has learned. The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 in Los Angeles.
Hurt, 26, was placed on the injured list on April 20 with right shoulder inflammation after making three relief appearances this season. He was activated off the injured list and optioned to Triple-A in June. However, two weeks later, Hurt was placed back on the seven-day injured list, and shortly thereafter, was transferred to the 60-day injured list.
Now, he’s set to undergo season-ending surgery next week to repair a torn UCL.
