More than anything, the Dodgers wanted to ensure that they had big-league depth this season. That came after the team went through a series of injuries to position players and pitchers in 2021. Not having guys ready to go led to them pulling from their farm system to get starts.
But they made sure to be ready for that this season. In terms of position players, the Dodgers added on Kevin Pillar and Jake Lamb as their veteran talent at the minor league level. The two former big leaguers have been playing at Triple-A with OKC while they wait for their turn.
