During his time on the Dodgers, pitcher Kenta Maeda was never one to take himself too seriously. He rarely, if ever, made himself the center of attention and always competed in each and every appearance.
After four seasons with the Dodgers, Maeda was traded to the Twins in exchange for Brusdar Graterol and Luke Raley in February of 2020. Sending Kenta to Minnesota was part of the fallout from the Dodgers acquiring Mookie Betts from the Boston Red Sox.
On Friday, Maeda, who’s rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, made the trip from the Twins Fort Meyers complex to Tampa Bay to cheer on his teammates from the dugout as they took on the Rays.
