Dodgers' Justin Turner makes a few adjustments, shows signs of shaking off slow start

LOS ANGELES – The bit of resurgence for the Dodgers’ bats in the past week has coincided with an improved Justin Turner.

The third baseman hit .247 and slugged .325 in April, but he hit .300/.417.500 on the team’s five-game interleague trip to Tampa Bay and Toronto.

“It was just a matter of time for JT,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

Turner was slowed in spring training after returning from offseason microfracture surgery on his left knee.

On Saturday, he hit his first home run of the season, a solo shot in the eighth inning as the Dodgers extended their lead on the Blue Jays.
