Dodgers minor-leaguer Josh Ravin was suspended for 80 games for violating baseball’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Ravin tested positive for Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide 2.
Ravin, a 28-year-old reliever, broke his left forearm in a car accident in February, and has been on the disabled list all season. He was not expected to be able to pitch until June.
“We are disappointed to hear that Josh has violated Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program,” the team said in a statement. “The Dodgers fully support MLB's policy toward eliminating performance enhancing substances from the sport and, as per the Joint Drug Program, we will have no further comment on this suspension.
