The Dodgers gambled and will ultimately take a loss this year on Jimmy Nelson. The teams announced the right-handed pitcher will miss the entire 2020 season.
Nelson was signed by the Dodgers to a one-year, $1.25 million contract this offseason. The team has a club option for $2 million next year, but it seems likely that they would take the $500,000 buyout instead. Nelson will undergo back surgery tomorrow that will likely end his run with Los Angeles.
The #Dodgers gamble on Jimmy Nelson has not paid out.
