The Dodgers really wanted to make sure that they did not run into the issues they hit last season. With so many injuries to position players, their depth was really tested. That led to guys like Luke Raley and Zach Reks getting starts at the big league level much sooner than anticipated.
So to make sure that does not happen in 2022, the Dodgers signed a few veteran players. That includes Jake Lamb, Kevin Pillar, and Hanser Alberto. The difference between the three was that Alberto’s was a big-league deal, and he was always going to be on the Opening Day roster.
