Just as Dave Roberts was naming the starting rotation to open the season early on Friday, injured right-hander Tony Gonsolin was back throwing off a mound since first rolling his ankle two weeks ago. While Roberts didn’t reveal who was taking Gonsolin’s spot in the rotation, we know it won’t be Tony who is expected to miss a few weeks to start the season.

The All-Star pitcher spoke with SportsNet LA this week about his progression, telling reporter Kirsten Watson that his ankle was finally started to get into a good spot after a “rough couple of days” following the injury.
