When Kenley Jansen was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a reoccurrence of heart trouble, the Los Angeles Dodgers were preparing to be without their closer for an extended amount of time.
A reported timetable pegged Jansen to be sidelined for a minimum of four weeks, and possibly even more depending on how he reacted to the treatment for his irregular heartbeat. The Dodgers never publicly set a timeline for Jansen’s return.
Jansen has since made strides in his recovery, having already resumed lifting weights and throwing to hitters.
Monday proved critical in Jansen’s quest to returning to the mound, as he had a follow-up appointment with his cardiologist and received some good news as he was cleared to return, per Alanna Rizzo of SportsNet LA:
Kenley Jansen will be activated tonight.
