Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided a somewhat promising update on veteran right-handed reliever Joe Kelly. Roberts told The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya that Kelly won’t be back on the mound until after the All-Star break.
Ardaya shared the update via Twitter/X.
Kelly was shifted to the 60-day IL from the 15-day IL two weeks ago due to a right shoulder strain. Because of this move, Kelly wasn’t eligible to return to the Dodgers bullpen until the first week of July, but with Roberts’ update, it won’t be for another handful of weeks.
The 36-year-old threw a bullpen session weeks ago, throwing 25 pitches, and he seemed to be making good progress in his recovery.
