It’s really not that difficult to inadvertently overlook the injuries of the Dodgers considering the club’s most recent string of success; however, looking ahead, the overall health of the squad could become a critical factor during the stretch run of the regular season and into the playoffs.
As it stands now, Los Angeles has 11 players on the disabled list, with five of the 11 — Andre Ethier, Andrew Toles, Rob Segedin, Scott Kazmir and Yimi Garcia — all listed on the 60-day DL. While we do know that Tolesy and Garcia aren’t expected back until next year, it’s beginning to look bleak for Kazmir and Segedin, even though Kazmir has appeared in a rehab outing for High-A Rancho Cucamonga as recently as last Sunday.
