As the playoffs are around the corner, the Dodgers are getting more reinforcements in the bullpen as a starter will convert to a reliever.
Pitcher Michael Grove is close to coming back to the team after hitting the injured list last month. His last start against the Padres was cut short on August 5th after he suffered right lat tightness.
Grove was trending in the right direction in that start against San Diego. He had four strikeouts in 1.1 innings pitched and has tossed 20 strikeouts in his last 12 innings.
Dave Roberts gave an update on Grove’s condition during media availability on Saturday.
