Despite a checkered past with respect to injuries, A.J. Pollock secured a four-year, $55 million contract from the Los Angeles Dodgers during what was largely another MLB free agency freeze for players.
The Dodgers and Pollock expressed confidence his twice-fractured elbow was more bad luck than indicative of a player being injury prone. While that may hold true, the reality is Pollock landed on the 10-day injured list after appearing in just 28 games.
He was unavailable in Monday’s series opener against the San Francisco Giants due to an infection in his right elbow. Upon being placed on the IL, Pollock returned to Los Angeles to have a procedure complete on his elbow.
