The Los Angeles Dodgers announced x-rays revealed Corey Seager sustained a fracture in his right hand as a result of being hit by a pitch. Seager was struck by a 90 mph pitch in the fifth inning of Saturday’s 7-0 win over the Miami Marlins and immediately removed from the game.
Prior to the announcement, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Seager was experiencing pain in the hand and there already swelling. Furthermore, Roberts suggested the team already had started to plan on putting Seager on the 10-day injured list.
The team did not reveal a timeline for Seager’s recovery.
