After the Dodgers got to 60-29 last night, Seth on Twitter had his first ever good idea and said it would be neat to look at how teams who got to 60 wins before 30 losses fared in the end.
The Dodgers are now tied for the second-most wins in baseball history through July 4th with 60, which is kinda amazing in itself.
Back to the question, since the inception of the World Series in 1903, there have been 52 teams to get to 60 wins before 30 losses. Of those 52, 29 went on to win the World Series and only seven failed to even make the World Series, with three of those cases being because there were only two playoff spots back then.
