GLENDALE, Ariz. — Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that he does not expect Hyun-Jin Ryu to pitch in a Cactus League game.
Ryu is still recovering from shoulder surgery that shelved him for the 2015 season.
Earlier this month, Ryu had set a target of a May return date, but Roberts added that it was "unrealistic."
"It’s aggressive," Roberts said, "but you never know how things change."
Ryu underwent the surgery last May to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder.
In 2014, he started 26 games and threw 152 innings with a 3.
