The Los Angeles Dodgers capped off Reopening Day at Dodger Stadium with a 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies thanks to a big performance from Mookie Betts in his first home game in front of a full capacity crowd.
L.A. took a lead in the first inning when Will Smith beat out a would-be double play to score Gavin Lux. Smith came to bat with a runner in scoring position after Lux and Justin Turner connected on back-to-back singles to put runners at the corners with one out.
The Dodgers got to Zach Eflin again in the fourth inning as Zach McKinstry’s double to the right-center field gap scored Chris Taylor from first base.
