The Los Angeles Dodgers closed out the first half of the season on a high note, defeating the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 5-3, to take two of three in the Freeway Series.
The win also put them back into sole possession of first place in the National League West heading into the All-Star break. The big hit in the game came off the bat of Kiké Hernandez in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Hernandez launched a line drive home run to left field to put the Dodgers out in front, and they were able to hold onto that lead to claim the victory.
