Dodgers' Greinke dominates Phillies, extends scoreless streak beyond 35 innings

Dodgers starting pitcher Zack Greinke throws to the plate during the first inning of Thursday's game against the Phillies at Dodger Stadium. Greinke held the Phillies to one hit in eight innings, extending his scoreless streak to 35-2/3 innings.

LOS ANGELES – The $147 million contract the Dodgers gave Zack Greinke in December 2012 bought them one of the best pitchers in the game – at least until he opts out following this season.

It apparently bought Greinke remarkable peace of mind.

The right-hander pitched another eight scoreless innings Thursday night, allowing just one hit as the Dodgers beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-0.
