LOS ANGELES – The Dodgers’ new regime is not committed to the idea of a closer at the major-league level. That much became clear in the season’s first week, when Chris Hatcher and Joel Peralta rotated in the role.

To ensure that future Dodgers understand that idea upon arrival, the team is emphasizing it in the minor leagues, too, in an unusual practice reaching as low as Low-A.
