Dodgers get good news on Yasiel Puig

OAKLAND -- The Dodgers likely won't have Yasiel Puig available for Wednesday's series finale against the Athletics, but they got good news regarding their right fielder.

Puig had an MRI exam on Wednesday morning that showed a very mild hamstring strain, one that won't require a stint on the disabled list.

"[The news] was really positive," manager Don Mattingly said. "Stan [Conte, team trainer] categorized it as really mild. [Puig]'s day-to-day. Friday we'll test in in Houston."

Puig left Tuesday night's game in the eighth inning after beating out an infield single, extending his hitting streak to five games.
