Freddie Freeman made multiple sacrifices on his way to becoming the World Series MVP and leading the Dodgers to their eighth championship in franchise history. Right before the postseason started, Freeman sprained his ankle against the San Diego Padres. His ankle sprain normally would have kept him out for at least a month with a spot on the injured list, but Freeman did not want to miss out on helping his team in October.
After the Dodgers won the World Series over the New York Yankees, it was also revealed that Freeman was playing through broken rib cartilage.
