On Tuesday the Dodgers made their first real move of the offseason, signing 32-year-old RHP Shelby Miller. Miller was an All-Star in 2015 with Atlanta, but hasn’t really been the same pitcher ever since. Last year, he appeared in four games out of the Giants bullpen.
However, the Dodgers seem to like these kind of low risk, reclamation project moves. We saw them make two last season with Tyler Anderson and Andrew Heaney, and those turned out awfully well. The contract for Miller is reported to be one-year, $1.5 million, with performance-based incentives. So truly a low risk move.
