In an act of frustration, Oakland Athletics closer Mason Miller slammed his hand on a training table breaking the pinky finger on his non-pitching hand after Monday’s night against the Houston Astros.
The 25-year-old was put on the 15-day injured list retroactive to Tuesday.
Miller, who is the hardest-throwing pitcher in the major leagues, has been the subject of trade speculation with the A’s out of playoff contention. Before the injury, the Los Angeles Dodgers were reportedly among the teams to express interest in the Oakland Athletics’ star closer, according to major-league sources who spoke with FanSided’s Robert Murray.
