Five permanent banners are affixed to the facade of the Dodger Stadium Club in right field, one for each of the franchise’s World Series titles. Conspicuously, there’s room for exactly one more next to the 1988 banner.
That’s nothing new. The sense of urgency to add to the collection has been in place for 27 years and counting, long enough now to make the empty space next to the ‘88 banner blend into the background with the San Gabriel Mountains.
