Of late, we’ve seen a few more questions online about the status of former Dodgers slugger Edwin Rios. We finally got an answer on Friday afternoon. Maddie Lee was the first to report that Rios is inking a deal with the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs have signed corner infielder Edwin Ríos to a one-year deal.
In a corresponding move, they placed reliever Ethan Roberts (Tommy John surgery) on the 60-day IL.Rios joins former teammates Cody Bellinger and Zach McKinstry on Chicago’s north side. As of the time of this writing, terms of the deal are unknown.
