Dodgers dodge a bullet with back-to-back wins over Cubs with Mike Bolsinger, Carlos Frias starting

The Dodgers' Howie Kendrick hits a two-run double during the first inning of Thursday's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago.

CHICAGO – The Dodgers don’t find themselves in this predicament very often.

Since Zack Greinke joined the Dodgers in 2013, he and Clayton Kershaw (or vice versa) have pitched consecutive games 60 times in the regular season. Only three times have the Dodgers lost both of those games.

It happens once a year – Sept. 7-8, 2013 at Cincinnati, Aug. 15-16 of last year against the Milwaukee Brewers and this week in the first two games of a four-game series at Wrigley Field.
