The Dodgers have walked a pretty interesting line lately, keeping an ultra-competitive big-league program while consistently having a solid farm system, too. While they’ve flexed their financial muscle by signing Freddie Freeman and trading for (and then extending) Mookie Betts, their ballclub has consistently included trash-bin pickups like Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, Max Muncy and others along with homegrown contributors like Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May, Will Smith, Gavin Lux, Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, and Joc Pederson.
In order to keep those homegrown contributors coming, Los Angeles has had to maintain an excellent farm system.
