Dodgers demote Brandon Beachy to make room for Carl Crawford

ATLANTA -- Brandon Beachy's return to the big leagues lasted only two starts for now.

Beachy was demoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City Tuesday, clearing a roster spot for the Dodgers to activate outfielder Carl Crawford from the disabled list. Crawford had been out since April 27 with a torn oblique muscle.

Beachy returned from two Tommy John surgeries to make his first big-league starts since August 2013. But he lasted just four innings in each start, showing poor command. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits and six walks in those eight innings.
