Dave Roberts turned some heads this weekend with comments he made about his players. Doc pointed to position players in particular, talking about their approach at the plate. He said that Dodgers hitters were maybe focusing too much on their individual approaches rather than a team focus.
Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman didn’t seem to mind those comments either. He added that if Dave was being openly critical, there was probably something wrong that needed to be fixed.
But this week, Doc sort of walked back on those comments. It sounds like he did have conversations with individual Dodgers players about the goals, though which players it was isn’t clear at this point.
