Starter Gavin Stone has been showing the Los Angeles Dodgers just how dependable he can be as a pitcher. For the fourth time in nine starts, he completed seven innings, this time against the Kansas City Royals on Friday.
He gave up three runs and four hits, struck out three, and walked two while only throwing 94 pitches in a no-decision. He has been consistent with a 7-2 record and a 3.01 ERA in 13 starts giving manager Dave Roberts many reasons to trust him in big games.
“I’ve got all the trust in the world in him that he can make a pitch when he needs to, get back after a tough inning, and keep us in the ballgame, which he did,” Roberts said of Stone.
