Dodgers Cut Veteran Reliever Amid Comeback Attempt

The Dodgers released veteran right-hander Jesse Hahn from his minor league contract, according to the team’s transactions page. Hahn, 35, had made 35 relief appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City this season after signing a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training in January.

Hahn went 4-1 with a 4.54 ERA for Oklahoma City. Hahn’s 24.2 percent strikeout rate and 58 percent ground-ball rate were enough to put him in line for a promotion, had he been consistent with his command. Unfortunately, his 18.1 percent walk rate allowed other candidates for the Dodgers’ bullpen to surpass Hahn on the organizational depth chart.
