The Dodgers are going to have to learn how to do things without Mookie Betts. They just placed the superstar outfielder on the injured list with a cracked rib, and it’s looking like 2 weeks is a possible timeline for him to return. Using Eddy Alvarez in his place isn’t going to cut it, especially considering his defensive capabilities.
As it turns out, the Dodgers might be looking to the trade market to fill the void. That move would likely be more on the temporary side, so don’t expect a huge name coming out west. But there are right-handed bats out there that could help them while Mookie is out and possibly transition to a bench bat.
