LOS ANGELES -- In between interviews for managerial jobs, Dodgers third-base coach Tim Wallach said he picks the Mets to win the World Series.
"Mets in six games," said Wallach, whose club was eliminated by New York in the National League Division Series, followed by the departure of manager Don Mattingly that put his coaching staff in limbo.
Wallach, Mattingly's bench coach, has since interviewed for the vacant manager's job in Washington and is rumored to be a candidate for the openings in San Diego and Los Angeles as well.
The entire Dodgers coaching staff -- pitching coach Rick Honeycutt, hitting coach Mark McGwire and base coaches Ron Roenicke and Davey Lopes -- was told it could seek employment elsewhere.
