On Friday, Dodgers fans were greeted with one of their least favorite push notifications: Clayton Kershaw is headed to the injured list. Hours before the legendary lefty was scheduled to take the hill against the Phillies at Dodger Stadium, the team placed him on the IL with SI joint inflammation.
According to OCR’s Bill Plunkett, Kershaw’s back started barking on the flight back from Pittsburgh. A MRI didn’t reveal a serious injury, but did alert the team of the inflammation. Plunkett also reported that Clayton received an epidural injection.
A few hours later, Kershaw discussed his injury with reporters and believes he’ll be back after spending the minimum 15 days on the IL (quote via OCR’s Bill Plunkett).
