LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers continued searching for pitching solutions on Wednesday by claiming left-handed reliever Ryan Dennick from Cincinnati, optioning him to Double-A Tulsa and designating left-hander David Huff for assignment.
Dennick, 28, had been pitching at Triple-A Louisville before being designated for assignment on Monday. The Dodgers still have a move upcoming to replace Huff on the 25-man roster.
Huff was promoted to make a spot start on Tuesday night, and he allowed first-inning home runs to Robinson Cano and Nelson Cruz, lasting four innings. It was the first time the Dodgers needed a fifth starter this season, which they began without the injured Hyun-Jin Ryu.
