Dodgers claim Erik Goeddel off waivers from Mariners

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers on Friday claimed pitcher Erik Goeddel off waivers from the Mariners, potentially to help their fledgling bullpen.

Goeddel, 29, had a 1.23 ERA and 2.73 FIP in five relief appearances with Seattle, with nine strikeouts and five walks in 7u2153 innings before getting designated for assignment on Wednesday.

The right-hander has a 3.78 career ERA in 115 major league appearances, all in relief, with 118 strikeouts and 43 walks in 112 innings. He pitched four years with the Mets before signing a minor league deal with the Rangers in the offseason.
