Dodgers can't hold off pesky D-backs

MIAMI -- Dodgers right-handed reliever Pedro Baez was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's 7-1 win over the Marlins, while lefty Ian Thomas was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Baez capped a 16-strikeout night for Dodgers pitchers by striking out the side in the ninth inning at Marlins Park. Before going on the DL with a right pectoral strain, Baez last appeared on May 13 against the Marlins. In 15 appearances this season, he's 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA in 15 1/3 innings and hasn't allowed a run in his last 8 1/3 frames.
