The Dodgers came into game five of the NLDS feeling very confident. Their start reflected that as they got off to a 3-0 lead. Max Muncy hit a two run home run and Enrique Hernandez followed with a solo shot in the second inning. Walker Buehler pitched fantastic, Clayton Kershaw escaped a jam in the seventh inning. Then the game began to unravel.
In the eighth inning, Clayton Kershaw did not record a single out and gave up back-to-back home runs to Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto. The Nationals’ two stars came through while Cody Bellinger and Corey Seager went through the entire NLDS without driving in a single run.
