It took awhile to become official, but the Dodgers tonight tendered contracts to nine of their 12 arbitration-eligible players — including Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager and Julio Urias.
The Dodgers also avoided arbitration with Austin Barnes by agreeing to a 1-year, $1.1 million deal. He was projected to make $1.3 million, according to MLB Trade Rumors. Barnes is coming off another tough offensive season (.203/.293/.340, 68 wRC+), but he’s still the best framing catcher the Dodgers have — that is, until Will Smith gets a shot at full-time, full-season work.
